About FindTreatment.ca
FindTreatment.ca is an independent directory built to help Canadians find addiction treatment centres, detox programmes, opioid treatment services, and recovery supports in every province and territory.
Our Mission
Canada is in the middle of a public health emergency. Between January 2016 and the most recent federal reporting period, tens of thousands of Canadians have died from opioid toxicity alone, and millions more struggle with alcohol use disorder, stimulant dependence, and co-occurring mental health conditions. Yet finding the right treatment — at the right time, in the right region, at a cost a family can afford — remains one of the hardest parts of the recovery journey.
FindTreatment.ca exists to make that part easier. We aggregate publicly available information about licensed and operating addiction treatment providers across Canada, organise it by province and city, and present it in a way that's free of advertising pressure, lead-generation tactics, or paid placement. Every centre on this site is indexed the same way — no provider pays to rank higher in our results.
How We Build Our Directory
Our directory is assembled from multiple sources: provincial health authority listings, accreditation bodies, public business registries, and published review data. We cross-reference each listing to confirm the centre is currently operating and that the contact information is accurate at the time of publication.
Where available, we enrich listings with aggregate rating data sourced from public review platforms, so that individuals and families can get a sense of how past clients experienced a programme. Ratings are one data point among many — we strongly encourage visitors to call centres directly, ask for accreditation details, confirm wait times, and verify that the programme matches their specific clinical needs.
We update listings on a rolling basis. If you represent a treatment centre and notice an error in your listing, or if you are a member of the public and spot outdated information, please contact us using the address on our contact page.
Editorial Standards
Our educational guides are written for a general Canadian audience. They are informational only and are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Where we describe clinical concepts — such as opioid agonist therapy, withdrawal management, or cognitive behavioural therapy — we align our descriptions with guidance published by Health Canada, the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA), the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), and peer-reviewed Canadian clinical practice guidelines.
We review our educational content periodically and update it when new guidance is published or when statistics from the Public Health Agency of Canada are refreshed. We avoid sensationalised language, we avoid making promises about outcomes, and we always surface crisis resources — 911 and 988 — at the top of every page.
What We Are Not
FindTreatment.ca is not a government service. We are not affiliated with Health Canada, any provincial ministry of health, or any specific treatment provider. We do not provide clinical assessments, intake coordination, or medical advice. We do not sell or transfer personal information to treatment centres, and we do not operate as a paid referral network.
If you are in a medical or mental health crisis right now, please dial 911 immediately. For suicide or crisis support anywhere in Canada, dial or text 988 — the service is free, confidential, and available 24/7.
Who We Are
FindTreatment.ca is operated independently by a small team based in Canada. The site was created because the people who most urgently need to find addiction treatment — individuals in crisis and the families supporting them — deserve a tool that is simple, honest, and complete. We take that responsibility seriously.
