St Clair Kids Rehabilitation

My son recently had a hip surgery back in April at Sick Kids. I was told he would go to Holland Bloorview Rehab as an inpatient after his surgery. When he was transferred from Sick Kids to Holland Bloorview within a few hours of his stay they sent him back to Sick Kids with a promise that they would accept him later once his medical issues were solved. Worst rehab for kids. This is a kids rehab center. They need sleep and make sure their patents are happy with their child sleeping in peace. I'm stuck here with my 4 year old while my 7 year old is pressured to sleep alone. She's only 7. They don't have separate rooms for KIDS. THEY ARE KIDS. Sharing space with another child is brutal. Children don't understand this. I don't know why they made they this rehab like this but please don't trust the nurses to leave your child alone. They will do

We had the greatest therapist, tech support was amazing. But when we had issues where the school violated our child’s human rights they 100% took the schools side and did not support our child. The school needed so much more AAC training and Holland Bloorview released our son to wolves without reservation. We can never forgive them for that. They have a process you can request with your child’s records called a lockbox. I would definitely look into that.

Thanks to my PT at Casey House for the referral to the orthotics department at Holland Bloorview. Easy COVID screening protocols, flew through admin and onto my appointment. Resident was extremely professional, thorough and kind. She very diligently walked me through the entire process (pun intended) right through to booking the follow-up. I feel like I'm in good hands here. Beautiful facility.

This place is amazing and so good for special needs kids. The staff are great. My son is autistic goes here for his dentist visits.
